Heavy Metal Nation is a place for fans of heavy, interesting music to come and read, write, and comment on articles about heavy music. Hi there! *waves frantically* I'm Tran/Tranee, whatever suits, pronounced Trahn (rhymes with barn) and Trah-nee (rhymes with barney) respectively.

It's a Vietnamese name, and yes, I know the jokes, hardly original, or funny for that matter. I'm sixteen, and from the big smoke city of Brisbane. I was vegetarian for 2006, but I just became vegan, as I strongly believe in animal rights.

My musical taste mainly includes metal, metalcore, and punk rock, but there are some alternative and offbeat artists here and there. Some artists I listen to include Caliban (favourite band), Eighteen Visions, Avenged Sevenfold, Loe, The Ramones, Iron Maiden, Amon Amarth, Rise Against, Velvet Revolver, and In Flames. Best live bands I've seen are Caliban and Avenged Sevenfold. Some bands I really don't like include AFI, Atreyu, Chiodos, and Soufly.

I play guitar and violin, and can also play viola, saxophone, and piano/keyboard. I've also been able to pick up instruments and play them almost straight away (a bit of ye olde musical talent in my blood!).
