Fallstaf is the other side of North East Bistro. Us boys have always been attracted to the louder types of music. Fallstaf has allowed us to come into contact with the louder and more theatrical sides of our personalities. The truth is that Fallstaf has nothing to do with NEB music wise, so beware if you think the two are related. With the recording of North East Bistro’s Sharing all of our Darkest Moments a Montreal Native Story becoming a long and arduous process, we were looking at another project to sink our teeth into. We’d been talking about the name Fallstaf for a long time and in 2008 it all came together with five songs which you can sample on our long awaited EP. Fallstaf is Ben on bass, Sim on Guitar, Matt on drums, The Hitman on trombone and Ian on vocals. PS. The name Fallstaf comes from Falstaff who is a character referred to by Shakespeare in his play Henry V. He is a Knight more interested in having a good time than he is in being accountable for his Knightly responsibilities. He is often seen as a negative influence on young Prince Hal, the future king Henry V.

Hiring a hit man can sometimes to be seen as a means to an end, but not for Montreal, QC metallers Fallstaf. With their aggressive tendencies and energetic approach to lay it all out in the mosh pit, these brawlers realized that hiring a hit man with a trombone is the means to fuel the fire and only the beginning of what has become.
Forming their own new genre dubbed “Brass Metal”, out of their other more soften music collective North East Bistro. Fallstaf is the angry brother who has melange the trombone assassinations of the hit man with their brand of aggressive / heavy hitting metal that ranges in influences from heavy rock, thrash and hardcore. Expressing their darkest moments from their corner of the world with a creative metal soundscape, Fallstaf is set to release their debut full length “Bastard Sons of a Pure Breed” on October 25, 2011 and add a new sound to the metal family tree.
